I was intrigued by the idea of a “hybrid” diaper and just had to try these since I’m still a bit nervous about making the full switch to cloth diapers. Fear of the unknown I guess
We had our first G diaper experience this weekend and right away noticed some pros and cons. PROS: Great fit, no leaks onto the outer cover, choice of using disposable or cloth liner (we only tried the disposable so far), inner liner dries quickly. I can see how the G diaper would be a convenient alternative to a full cloth diaper when you are out and about with your baby. CONS- Despite following the flushing instructions to a tea, the disposable liner plugged our toilet first try. However, I am the first to admit that our toilets are not the best. As well, the inner plastic liner needs to be washed after poops because it gets soiled. Not sure if I’m a fan of the velcro closure being on the back of the diaper, although I do understand the rational for this (to prevent older babies from undoing their own diapers). I think we’ll give the G diaper another chance, but we’ll try out their cloth insert next time
